Payment

Do you accept insurance?

I am considered an “out-of-network provider” in Florida and other states in which I am licensed to practice, which means that while I am not paneled with any insurances, you may be able to have your insurance company reimburse some of what you pay out-of-pocket for therapy.

To help with this process, I can offer an invoice of services (called a “superbill”) at the end of each month for you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement if desired.

At times, I can offer sliding scale fees based upon individual financial need.

Here is a link to an article explaining more about out-of-network reimbursement:

 Good Faith Estimate (GFE)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

How do I pay my bill?

At Deeper Roots, I usually require clients keep a credit card on file in my secure client portal called Simple Practice.

You may choose to have your card automatically billed after each session (AutoPay) or to pay at the time of your appointment.

Forms of payment accepted include:
– Credit card
– Debit card
– Health Savings Account (HSA)
– Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Do you use any kind of client portal?

At Deeper Roots, I use a secure, HIPPA-compliant electronic health records system called Simple Practice.

This portal allows you to complete intake paperwork, update demographic information, view and pay your bills, chat with your provider, and upload documents.
